In the ever evolving landscape 0f business and marketing, it’s important to BE the media. This means you can no longer solely rely on traditional media outlets to share your message (although, depending on your strategy, they should be a part of your mix). The foundation of profitability begins with building relationships and business growth with content. Today you must become your own brand evangelist and create buzz yourself.  This starts with solid content (otherwise know as copy – this is the heart of your marketing message) and a clear strategy to reach your goals.  Phoebe Chongchua is no stranger to media and the influence it can create. She’s the host of The Brand Journalism Advantage radio show on iTunes and it was my pleasure to be interviewed by her.  Phoebe knows her stuff and I think […]

Your word IS your honor. This seems simple and yet it is rather complex. Your words are the foundation of how you choose to show up in life. In fact, a thought becomes a bright idea and when put in writing, words turn ideas into action.  That’s powerful. Your words are powerful. Your thoughts and your words are developed in accordance to your worldview. Your family, friends, the government, media, school systems, your individual experiences, and your interaction with society shape your worldview. Beyond that, your word revolves around your personal values. Your personal values are determined by the meaningful elements of your collective worldview that matter most to you individually. Your values then shape your integrity and they drive all that you do personally and professionally. In general, integrity means the quality of being honest and […]

I’ve been known to challenge the norm and to encourage you to do the same.  One of my favorite authors and thought leaders is Seth Godin. He’s a great example of challenging the norm. I’ve had the opportunity to see Seth speak and to meet him. He’s unassuming and approachable which makes him even more brilliant in my book. We are in the midst of The Connection Economy. And there is no better way to connect than with your word. That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing ways to improve your marketing message and strategy. The Connection Economy is also why I’m so passionate about creative writing and storytelling, especially in business. NOW is the time to blend it all together and be uniquely YOU. I firmly believe that your word is your honor. That is why […]

Have you considered that your business model might not be the best way to promote and market your programs, packages and services?  The maze of marketing options and business models can be confusing especially if you’ve only been given select pieces of the marketing puzzle. The KEY is to determine how you’d like to craft your business and marketing to truly support YOU!  Personally I prefer a lifestyle business that promotes freedom while making money from my passions. James Roche is a trusted friend and colleague. We’ve worked together in several capacities (including when I was a mastermind leader for Ali Brown’s programs and more). Recently James and I had a candid conversation about marketing and lifestyle/freedom-based businesses. The content was so JUICY we decided to record it. When you crave a business that gives you a […]

By being proactive you can create a solid marketing plan for success.  As we grow and evolve this may mean that our business model will change, too. With this in mind, it’s important to create your Content Strategy Plan (aka Internet marketing editorial calendar) at least a quarter in advance.  NOW is THE time to evaluate where you are, where you’ve been and where you’re going. This includes: Reviewing revenue streams and projections Making adjustments as necessary Revisiting strategy and execution To help get the juices flowing I’m sharing a rich resource. I was honored to be interviewed by Jim Nemley on BlogTalkRadio. He is a such a great source of information and inspiration. I could talk to him about marketing and strategy for hours. I’m sharing our interview from Building Your Xtra-Ordinary Business Radio Program here because it’s full […]

There’s a very specific formula used by successful businesses like Virgin, PUMA, Southwest Airlines, TOMS, Zappos, Ben & Jerry’s and more. • What are you most proud of in your work? • Are you making a REAL difference? • Do you KNOW it’s time to make a change? I’m asking you about YOUR business and what you’re most proud of because if you’re not fired up about your business, it’s time to get recharged. I also want to share this resource with you because you can learn the formulas that most successful companies are using. Without a doubt I’m most proud of my “Challenge. Solution. Invitation™.” marketing and copywriting formula. Teaching and modeling a relationship first approach to marketing with integrity feeds my soul. When others are being evangelists for your philosophies you know what you’re doing […]

I first “met” Vanessa Halloum via the Evolutionary Business Council. I was immediately impressed by her mission and her passion. She’s the author of the multi-award winning book “The 5 Feminine Power Virtues” and the founder of Feminine Soul Academy for women entrepreneurs, messengers and thought leaders, an organization dedicated to bringing tools and support to help build mission-driven businesses (one of the reasons our missions align so well). She is the publisher of Feminine Soul Magazine.  I’m honored to be a featured writer for her publication and my New marketing model for success was featured in debut issue of Feminine Soul magazine. You can also download my article by clicking on this link FeminineSoul_pdf. I want to share a little more about Vanessa and her BIG vision.   Here’s our recent interview.  Q: What is your BIG vision […]
