There are three key elements to creating the life and business you desire. Gratitude, success and support. I suggest that we all focus on gratitude and success (Exactly why I keep a journal of gratitude and a journal of success). It’s one of the best ways I know to stay focused on what really matters and celebrate accomplishments (As well as pick myself up when I’m being to hard on myself — Can you relate to that?). One thing I know for sure is that each of us are way too critical of our own success and where we think we ought to be. This is why it’s important to surround ourselves with people who can hold the space for our vision and hold us accountable to ensure we’re not only moving forward but that we’re stretching ourselves. […]

How will you design your business so it’s fully supporting you instead of the other way around? (yes, we’ve all been there and IT can change — but it’s up to you). Setting intentions for the New Year is important. Being clear with your intentions is important any time of year and you can change your intentions whenever you want. That’s the beauty of freedom and taking responsibility for your own life. AND, your life should fully support YOU in all areas. I’m not a fan of resolutions. In fact, I resolve not to make resolutions. I feel they lack substance. Instead I make commitments to myself and I set a theme for the year (often selecting theme songs that correspond with my focus but that’s another post). My theme for the past year was “CHANGE”… I took […]

I want you to REALLY think about this. Are you living the life you’ve always dreamed of (or is something — maybe even YOU– holding you back)? Recently I attended an India Arie concert (she’s one of my all-time favorite performers). This was the second concert of her new tour after a four-year hiatus. Her music touches my soul and as she shared her story of changing direction because she had been working on a project that didn’t speak to her truth, my wheels started turning. Her comments made me realize that we all have to make tough decisions (sometimes that means letting go of what no longer serves us to do what really fills us up). It also made me realize that it’s OK to change course and get really clear about our truth (and […]

I first “met” Vanessa Halloum via the Evolutionary Business Council. I was immediately impressed by her mission and her passion. She’s the author of the multi-award winning book “The 5 Feminine Power Virtues” and the founder of Feminine Soul Academy for women entrepreneurs, messengers and thought leaders, an organization dedicated to bringing tools and support to help build mission-driven businesses (one of the reasons our missions align so well). She is the publisher of Feminine Soul Magazine.  I’m honored to be a featured writer for her publication and my New marketing model for success was featured in debut issue of Feminine Soul magazine. You can also download my article by clicking on this link FeminineSoul_pdf. I want to share a little more about Vanessa and her BIG vision.   Here’s our recent interview.  Q: What is your BIG vision […]

Often we get what we expect AND more often than not we don’t clearly define our expectations. NOT being clear about what you really want in your business and in your personal life impacts everything. I share this because I want YOU to live a life that exceeds your wildest expectations. Unfortunately you may have unrealistic expectations or you may not be CLEAR on what that looks like for you. That’s WHY it’s important to take time to assess what you really want. I believe firmly in a holistic approach to creating the lifestyle of your dreams and I understand dreams are very personal. I suggest starting with your values because your values help you identify what is most important to YOU. Incorporate your values into your personal mission statement and your business mission statement so ALL […]

Have you ever found yourself stuck in either/or thinking? Forcing yourself to choose between experiences you truly desire? I’ve blogged about this before — AND instead of either/or scenarios, I highly recommend “AND thinking.” This train of thought allows you to move past choosing one thing over another so you can create exactly what you want. For example: I’ve created a FREEDOM based lifestyle based on my core values. This means I can work and play anywhere I choose. For 20 years my home base has been in Idaho although I’m originally from California. My SOUL has been yearning for a change and I’ve researched many places that I thought I might want to be. I struggled with the notion of giving up my home in Idaho. So instead of doing the either/or thing, I decided […]

When planning for success I focus on three key areas – health, wealth and happiness.  These are the foundations that I want to master in business and in my personal life. And, as I’ve said before business is personal. Therefore, what you do in your personal life will directly impact your business and vice versa.  What is most important to you when planning for success? What KEY areas do you focus on? I find it’s important to allocate time to planning, visioning and getting clear on how you want your life to look. It’s also VITAL to take action. You can wish for something your entire life and never get it if you don’t take action. Here are some tips I use when focusing on health, wealth and happiness. I’ve also included a few actions items that […]

When was the last time you TRULY invested in yourself and/or your business? For many of us the outcome of investment is the same — when we grow personally we thrive professionally and when we grow professionally we thrive personally. There are many ways you can invest in yourself and it all starts with owning the fact that we need outside support, guidance and tools to move ourselves towards our end goal (whatever that might be). You can invest in yourself by participating in programs, getting paid to speak or simply committing time to honing your craft. However, I’ve found that we tend to get more value out of the activities that require some monetary and energetic exchange beyond time. I’m sharing this and inviting you to take a quick inventory on what you’re really doing to […]

I believe we all want more peace, success and abundance in life. When you find yourself in a place of frustration or overwhelm (and I believe we all do– notice I didn’t say “if”) there are three steps you can take right away to refocus and recharge.   1) Carefully assess and evaluate what you are tolerating. This is a deep process and may take a bit of time AND I highly recommend it. Grab a pad of paper and a pen or pop open your laptop. Make a column for both your personal life and your business and jot down all of the things that are causing you any amount of discomfort. Your tolerations can be big or small but whatever they are they will have one thing in common — they are causing you discomfort […]
