• MP900341909[1]No matter what time of year it is, it’s important to think about results. In October of 2013 I celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Write On Creative. This caused me to pause and reflect on what’s working and what needs to change. More about that later. First lets look at your business…and your marketing results.

Are you secretly wishing for a money tree?

There are days that I’d love to have a money tree and I know that’s not going happen.

In fact, dreaming about money trees is about as effective as following cookie cutter marketing plans that don’t take your vision, values and mission into consideration.

Interestingly enough, your business is a lot like a tree. You must plant the seed and continually water it so it will grow. As it matures there is also maintenance (trimming, feeding and more). The same is true for attracting clients. You must constantly seed your marketing with the right information to attract your ideal clients.

    With that being said…

    • What’s working in your business?
Is your marketing bringing you the results you had hoped for?
    • Do you have a clear plan and strategy for success?

AND most important are you implementing that plan?

You see, a plan without action is really just inaction (it’s like planting a seed and NOT watering it). That isn’t going to get you anywhere. In fact, some of the Manyon’s Musings readers have experienced a Manyon Marketing Web Makeover and you still have not implemented or delegated your action items to get it done (NUDGE).

MP900321220[1]When you take action, you get results. Personal results. Not some cookie cutter BS. AND I love hearing about your successes. Recently Pamela Wills shared with me that she more than doubled her subscriber base (opt-in rate) after she implemented my suggestions for her website strategy and copy. That made me smile because it means she can serve twice as many people and has the opportunity to make twice as much money (win win).

I’m also delighted to share the recap of a conversation I had with a Write On Creative Community member. Sharon Carne shared how my philosophies have positively impacted her business. She’s implementing the FREE information I share via articles and Manyon’s Musings ezine and getting RESULTS. She read my article that was originally featured in Aspire magazine and it changed her outlook on marketing. I was so moved by what she shared, I asked if I could share it with you. Here’s an excerpt of what she sent me…

After a few years of learning as much as I could about marketing my business, I was feeling frustrated and totally out of my element. Pushing pain buttons to sell my programs felt completely out of alignment with what I was teaching in those programs.

And none of that marketing approach worked for me.

When I read these two pages ( Aspire Article – Lisa Manyon ) Lisa’s philosophies transformed my struggle into hope.

I printed the article and pinned it to my bulletin board and started to rewrite how I was offering my services with an acknowledgement of the challenges, offering a practical solution and extending an invitation to those who were finding their way to me.

To me, I feel that Lisa’s approach offers respect and understanding to the people who are attracted to us.

When I have used Lisa’s approach in our live and online introductory events, I have seen trust, relationships and friendships develop quickly. At our live events, most of the people attending don’t want to leave. More than half of those who live in our community, continue to support our other events in the city.

And as a speaker and trainer, offering my services to others, I feel in full alignment and integrity with who I am as I share how I can offer help.”

WOW!!! Sharon’s results touched my heart deeply. Hearing results like this from my community members and preferred clients is just as rewarding as having my philosophies featured in the bestselling books Wonder Women and Engage. I’m humbled again and happy that I am helping to facilitate change and get results.

You see everything Sharon shared supports my big vision of changing the way we market forever with a relationship based approach to marketing that comes from a place of true service and integrity to get RESULTS and that’s exactly what my “Challenge. Solution. Invitation.™” formula does.

So, I’ll ask you again… Is your marketing bringing you the results you’d hoped for? If not, it might be time for you to invest in your business and I’d love to help if it feels right to you (be sure to take check out your options here… yes, I’m planting seeds).

    1. Having experienced the amazing benefits of your content strategy planning program, I’m not surprised to hear that Pamela had such amazing results! Congrats, Lisa!-)

    2. Sue Painter says:

It’s gratifying to hear from someone who has so directly implemented and benefited from your work, isn’t it? That can be fuel to keep you offering what you offer to ever larger audiences, too.

      • Lisa Manyon says:

Yes, it’s truly humbling and important to share our value proposition so people understand the potential ROI of investing in their businesses by allowing us to help.

        Write on!~

    3. Lisa, I completely agree that we all need a clear plan of success!

    4. Jessica says:

A marketing plan is just as important if not more than a business plan!

      • Lisa Manyon says:

Yes they are both important and I find it interesting that so few business plans include enough emphasis on marketing for the business to actually succeed.

        Write on!~

    5. When you find that money tree can I have a cutting?? LOL

On a more serious note I am learning that marketing is definitely important when it comes to properly targeting your audience and your product to get results.

    6. what wonderful results! I love this “I feel in full alignment and integrity with who I am as I share how I can offer help.”

    7. I say the same thing about friendship! Just saying you want more friends is not the same thing as actually taking action on that (i.e. initiating). Funny how our default is so often to just hope it happens! Good reminder in a super important area of our lives!

      • Lisa Manyon says:

YES! Taking action is crucial. Even the best intentions will get you nowhere if you don’t take action. I really like what you said about friendship, too. It’s all about building relationships.

        Write on!~

    8. Mitch Tublin says:

Great to read about the success of your labors!
This is the best way to let people know how good you really are at what you do.

    9. There isn’t a money tree?!-) What am I going to tell my clients?-)

I love the quote, “a plan without action is really just inaction” – I couldn’t agree more….now off to create my plan and execute 🙂

    10. Kat Loterzo says:

IMPLEMENTATION – it’s so easy to get caught up in everything we ‘could’ be doing, so thank you for bringing it back to the basics. Great butt kickin’!

    11. I love your tree analogy, Lisa! It is right on the money. 🙂

    12. Toni Nelson says:

Taking action is so important. You can have the best ideas, plan etc. but if you don’t take action nothing will happen. Part of that action has to be building relationships, a community.
