• Things don’t always go as planned. The cool thing about that is we have the ability to course correct as we see fit.   Sometimes we’re forced to slow down and examine things whether we like it or not. This can happen via changes in relationships, health issues, business challenges and any number of “signs” that it’s time to regroup. A quote that really stuck with me lately is this “Life has a way of testing a persons will, either by having nothing happen at all or by having everything happen at once.” ~ Paulo Coelho.

Perhaps you can relate. I sure can and I feel some BIG changes coming. AND, I’ve been forced to slow down again because of some health issues (nothing major — just a respiratory issues that’s hanging on a little too long for my liking). It’s actually forced me to relax (something I prefer to do only by choice and after I’ve tackled all the things on my to-do list). I wasn’t extremely happy about this because I’ve had some fantastic momentum with interviews and media buzz about my new and copywriting formulas and philosophies. I had to reschedule some interview because I actually lost my voice. Ironic since my feature article in Aspire Magazine was all about finding your voice…

Despite having to take it easy the buzz continues and my voice is being heard on a national level and beyond. I have to say I’m really proud about that. You can read about it in Inc. Magazine here (I think I’m on to something… no? – Please feel free to comment and share via social media — your support is appreciated and I’d love to hear your thoughts — so comment on the article on Inc.’s site, or comment here — whatever you do, weigh in because your thoughts matter.).

But I digress…Last month I flew to LA to work with my coach, then I zipped to Denver to check out some potential digs and I found I was pushing myself too hard. I also had an intuitive feeling something was off (a niggling feeling I’d been ignoring which is never a good idea). The result — my forced downtime and some harsh realizations about where I really want to be.  So, I’ve decided to take it easy in June, focus on my projects at hand.  I’m also going to spend time with my parents and do some soul searching. Have you given yourself permission to relax and allow lately? Are you tapping into your intuition to discover what’s best for you? Are you pushing too hard and in turn creating a feeling of overwhelm? (It happens to the best of us).

I invite you to think about what really matters to you personally and professionally and if something isn’t feeling right in your business you might want to revisit your values, mission, ideal client and overall marketing messages. I just happen to have a new tool to help you with that. Feel free to check out my new program and see if it’s a good fit for you How To Create Marketing Messages with Integrity: Attract Your Ideal Clients With Your Authentic Voice.

AND I invite you to leave a comment here so we can have a REAL discussion. I really want to hear your thoughts.

That “drag” feeling can sure catch up with you, can’t it? I like forward movement, and it’s been a lifelong practice to learn more to go with the flow. Hope you feel better soon, Lisa.

    3. One of the greatest gifts of my entire life was when I was “forced” to slow down by 9 months of morning sickness during my pregnancy. I turned inward on a journey that has blossomed into my gorgeous career. Good for you for honoring this moment for yourself, Lisa! XO, Katherine.

    4. I have done several presentations recently on change and used a small telescope, a map and a compass to talk about course corrections and many of the concepts you mention in this post. A friend gave me a totally cool compass and your photo here looks like my props. I have a feeling we have lots to talk about. Rest and recover your strength. It’s in there.

    6. Indeed Lisa the human body is an amazing self healer and often sends us messages that we can often keep missing if we get caught up in the busyness of life – 3 cheers for you for taking heed and taking time out to rest and reflect!

        Thanks so much, Linda,
You know the feature article in Aspire really catapulted my philosophies into the mainstream. I’m excited about that and doing my best to honor my down time. Not always easy for me.
        You are appreciated.
        Write on!~
