Aspire Magazine April/May 2012What do you do when things don’t go as planned? I’ve been anxiously awaiting my interview with Linda Joy the publisher of Aspire magazine.  Since gracing the cover of her publication and sharing my philosophies about marketing, advertising and copywriting with my article Find Your Voice: The New Marketing Model for  Success is Here things have been a little wild. Hundreds of people signed up to listen in (more evidence this topic is really hitting home).

The night of our free call Linda Joy and I had such a deep conversation about what’s working in marketing and what’s not.  We could literally hear those on the line breathing a deep sigh of relief that there is an authentic way to get your messages out in the world. AND there was an ironic twist. Everything that could possibly go wrong with technology did.  Our bridgeline that we were recording the call on muted Linda who was the host of the call… Luckily I’m passionate about the topic and was able to chat about it until our tech troubles were solved.  Once we were both “live” again things really flowed. We delivered everything we promised and more. We discussed the three challenges that heart-based entrepreneurs experience when trying to turn your BIG mission into a palatable marketing message.  I’ve seen this over and over again when working one-on-one with clients throughout the years…

We both shared stories from our journeys about how FEAR had paralyzed us at times.  Being an entrepreneur and having your own business isn’t for the faint of heart and we’ve both experienced ups and downs.  You will too, but if you hold true to your passion and integrity you can push past that fear.

We spoke of trusting our intuition and giving ourselves permission to lead the way (you see – there are likely NOT role models to show you the way because you’re creating something uniquely you and blindly following others won’t work either)… I shared how I was actually a little afraid to step up and share my new marketing model for success because I thought “who am I to challenge what’s been taught before?”  I had to push past that fear because I know what I’m sharing is TRUE and you cannot argue with the truth. The antiquated copywriting and marketing formula of “Problem. Agitate.Solve.” is broken and what’s really working is my new formula of “Challenge. Solution. Invitation.™”  It’s friendlier, from the heart and NOT manipulative.

From there the conversation got even deeper. We talked about how you must declare your purpose to find your voice, identify your values, mission and vision, own your expertise and understand it’s okay to do what you love and make money. Plus, you must be of true service and know who you need to serve and why because when you clearly define your purpose, infuse true passion and are motivated fir st by making a difference and being of service the rest will follow. The information we shared is the foundation on which you can create your marketing message with integrity. If you don’t include all of the elements we discussed, chances are your marketing won’t truly resonate with your ideal clients and coincidentally you won’t make money. This is how it all ties together energetically. It’s something I do intuitively and I’ve also developed a process to help others get really clear on everything they need to have in place to create marketing messages with integrity.

Those who joined us on the call, perhaps you were there, got the first look at my new program called How to Create Marketing Messages With Integrity: Attract Your Ideal Clients With Your Authentic Voice. (I’m really proud of this work and I know it will make a HUGE difference in the way marketing is approached)Now back to the ironic twist. We promised to send listeners the recording of the call. Remember I mentioned that everything that could possibly go wrong with technology did? I wasn’t kidding. We had two recording methods in place and neither of them worked.  So, until Linda and I can re-record our conversation and deliver upon our promise  (that’s what marketing with integrity is all about) I sent listeners my interview with Denise Griffitts because we covered some of the same juicy info – just not the program info).  Linda and I are re-recording the call so we can deliver on our promise and those who sign up for the replay here will get that audio as soon as it’s available.  What would you have done if this happened to you?
