• When I first learned about The Hot Mommas Project I thought “COOL!”. I’m always impressed with projects that help to inspire and uplift women.  The Hot Mommas  is an award-winning women’s leadership venture housed at the George Washington University School of Business, Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, offering the world’s largest women’s case study library featuring digital role models and mentors.

The project provides free, online, global access to stories of female role models and mentors resulting in measurable increases in self-confidence among women age 18 and older. Women from across the globe are encouraged to share their case studies during the Hot Mommas competition and must be nominated to participate

I discovered The Hot Momma’s project when I was nominated to submit a case study almost two years ago. I was honored and I felt a little bit of that “who am I to apply for this type of award” junk that often comes up for women entrepreneurs. So, 2010 came and went without me submitting my case study.  Thanks to persistence,  I was urged (aka re-nominated) to participate and I pushed through my own doubts (even the most successful women still have them from time to time) . So,  I submitted my case study and  I won the Charles Schwab Financial Literacy Award in The Hot Mommas Project annual 2011 Case Study Competition.

I’m honored because my journey and the journey of all the  participants and winners will help inspire women and girls across the globe for years to come. You can  learn more about the project and read my case study online here

The mission of Hot Momma’s is to increase self-efficacy of women and girls across the globe through exposure to role models and to do that the project has developed the world’s largest library of teachable role models for women and girls. The Hot Mommas Project takes pride in being a “digital democracy.” The winning cases are from all around the world, and from all walks of life from princesses, to teen moms, to survivors, to CEOs of publicly traded companies.

All of the  2011 winning case studies can be accessed online here. They are written by women, of all ages, telling their stories to help each other and generations to come.   To learn more about the Hot Mommas Project or to nominate a women to participate visit www.HotMommasProject.org .
