Today I’d like you to think about your website and seriously consider how it’s working for you, your business and your clients Do you ever feel like online marketing is one BIG puzzle and you’re missing one or more of the pieces?  If this is true for you, you are NOT alone. In fact, you may be missing crucial pieces to the online marketing puzzle AND you may just need to make some subtle adjustments to increase your profits and get RESULTS. It’s quite possible that you had your website designed (maybe even designed it yourself) and thought once you launched it, the profits would pour in. The TRUTH is, that probably didn’t happen. Here’s why. Unless you have created  a strategy to achieve specific revenue goals, they are not going to magically happen just because you have […]

Regardless of the time of year it’s important to assess or reassess your business goals and objective. With that in mind,  I have three questions for you… • Are you where you hoped you’d be in your life and business at this point? • Do you have clear intentions about what you’d like to achieve in your business and your life? • Who is going to hold you accountable? I’ve been pondering planning A LOT lately. One of the concepts I teach in my POWER Planning Process is the idea of pliability. Pliability is important when creating your plan because it allows for course correction, challenging the norm and doing things differently. As you grow in your personal life and in your business focus, there needs to be room for pliability. There also need to be room for […]

There are three key elements to creating the life and business you desire. Gratitude, success and support. I suggest that we all focus on gratitude and success (Exactly why I keep a journal of gratitude and a journal of success). It’s one of the best ways I know to stay focused on what really matters and celebrate accomplishments (As well as pick myself up when I’m being to hard on myself — Can you relate to that?). One thing I know for sure is that each of us are way too critical of our own success and where we think we ought to be. This is why it’s important to surround ourselves with people who can hold the space for our vision and hold us accountable to ensure we’re not only moving forward but that we’re stretching ourselves. […]

Are YOU sure your online marketing is as streamlined as it needs to be? Let me take that question a step further … have you considered marketing audits for all of your offerings and revenue streams? Do you have a system in place to monitor communications and make sure your team (current or previous) sets up your online communications properly? I am seriously asking this and for a very good reason. AND part of that reason is I learned the hard way that you must personally spot check the work your team is doing (or enlist the support of someone you trust) to make sure it’s done properly and in some cases, that it’s done at all… Remember how I share that each of your online offerings needs to have its own strategy (that means external marketing […]

As an entrepreneur or business owner you have many roles. Not only do you have to make your magic, you have to market your magic and before any of that can happen you have to have a solid foundation for success. This includes carefully looking at where you have been, where you are now and where you are going (or where you want to be). Here are three key questions you’ll want to be very clear about. • What’s your BIG PICTURE vision? • What you have accomplished so far and are your results really supporting your big vision? • Are you meeting projections or does something need to change? To help you dig a little deeper with the process I’m sharing 7 HOT business strategy tips. These are not NEW but they are tried and true. […]

No matter what time of year it is, it’s important to think about results. In October of 2013 I celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Write On Creative. This caused me to pause and reflect on what’s working and what needs to change. More about that later. First lets look at your business…and your marketing results. Are you secretly wishing for a money tree? There are days that I’d love to have a money tree and I know that’s not going happen. In fact, dreaming about money trees is about as effective as following cookie cutter marketing plans that don’t take your vision, values and mission into consideration. Interestingly enough, your business is a lot like a tree. You must plant the seed and continually water it so it will grow. As it matures there is also […]

Are you on track to accomplish your BIG vision and mission? Often we are so close to our own business vision that we forget how important it is to get outside perspective to move us forward and encourage our growth. Your ability to carry forth your vision increases with planning, strategy, implementation and collaboration. It allows you to anchor in your legacy and create a lasting impact in the world and within your profession. I mention this because, it’s never too early to start planning for your success, the New Year, (even upcoming quarter) or for your next big project.  It’s also important to reassess what you’re doing now (be sure to read my blog post Re-Evaluate, Re-Package Re-Position but don’t Re-brand here ). In fact, I suggest re-evaluating where you are in your business at a minimum […]

As we step into new territory planning becomes more important than ever. So do strategy and implementation. Often we are so close to our own business vision that we forget how important it is to get outside perspective to move us forward and encourage our growth. Your ability to finish strong with planning, strategy and implementation increases with collaboration. I hope you’re one of the savvy people who have BIG plans to finish strong as this year comes to a close. Although the holidays can sidetrack us, now is a great time to evaluate where you are, where you’ve been and where you’re going. This includes reviewing projections, making adjustments and creating a solid plan for success.  Personally I’m working on revamping my website copy and creating my Content Strategy Plan for the New Year. To help […]

Have you ever had an experience where you realize you’re not being as clear as you could be? This happened to me at a recent business retreat in Arizona. I was meeting with eight of my most trusted colleagues in a private mastermind meeting.  I love meeting with this group because they give me clear perspective on my stuck spots and beyond and they are all wildly successful.  We meet several times a year and we each get an hour to focus on our business direction and get valuable feedback. Anyway, instead of focusing on what isn’t working or what I’m stuck on, I decided to focus on what is working. It just made sense to focus on something I know is working so I could get fresh perspective and ideas around how to make it work […]

What is your plan? People continually ask me how I’m able to accomplish all of the things that I do. Truthfully, I sometimes wonder that myself. But, ultimately, I know it’s because I’m a planner. To some extent we all multi-task and have numerous responsibilities that can, at times, seem overwhelming. The key is to learn how to manage the responsibility by planning for it. Believe it or not, day to day activities are less stressful when you implement a plan. I must confess that I enjoy planning.
