The 4 – Hour Workweek is both refreshing and provocative.  Rarely does a business book make me laugh out loud. I have to give Timothy Ferriss credit for his unique business and personal twists. The 4- Hour Workweek: Escape 9 -5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich is both refreshing and provocative. Who are the new rich? Simply put, you and me if we take heed. Fully embracing life both personally and professionally is something we all long to do. Ferriss does it and eloquently. From his world record Tango talents to National Championship in Chinese kick boxing (this tale alone is worth the purchase of the book. I am still laughing), Ferriss uses uncanny and unconventional business sense to pursue his passions. I say “bravo!”

Who hasn’t dreamed of becoming the next millionaire or accidental millionaire? And who hasn’t felt this accomplishment may be out of reach? It’s time to dispel the myth that making a million is impossible. In fact, Stephanie Frank shows how impossible life circumstances can lead to catalysts of change that create a life full of abundance and wealth. This book has been in my must read pile for quite some time. My colleague and friend Viki Viertel  highly recommended it as “life changing.” So, I had to take a peek. I like life change. After Viki recommended that book, Stephanie Frank was mentioned again. So, I pulled the book off my shelf and I could not put it down until I was done. First I thank Stephanie wholeheartedly for being so personal and candid. Her story is […]

When you’re ready for no B.S. tips about business success, Kennedy does not disappoint. In fact, usually, there are only a handful of golden nuggets I can easily bullet point in a review for one book. With Dan Kennedy’s No B.S. Business ~ Success – The Ultimate No Holds Barred, Kick Butt, Take No Prisoners, Tough & Spirited Guide, I found something tangible and applicable to entrepreneurialism in each chapter. As I read books, I keep a highlighter and sticky note pad close at hand to flag points to ponder or implement. You should see the numerous sticky notes poking out of this book. I’ll share the most poignant ideas and encourage you to read the book to find out what speaks to you. My absolute favorite passage from the book is found on page 11 and […]

Amazingly enough, I still run into clients who use as a haphazard method and believe they truly are marketing. Now I have an expert resource I recommend so clients easily understand the components of Web marketing. My new secret weapon is Cat Seda’s latest book How to Win Sales and Influence Spiders ~Boosting Your Business and Buzz on the Web. Seda skillfully explains the playing field on the web, and she uses language that is easily understandable even to newbies. Some of the key points, you’ll take away from this book are; The big picture overview of search engine marketing […]

With extensive non-profit experience ranging from general volunteerism, management of non-profit outreach and assistance programs as well as board member roles, The One Page Business Plan for Non-Profit Organizations is one of the best tools I’ve seen. While serving as board chairperson for the non profit organization Willow Center for Grieving Children, I was able to triple the income in three years by utilizing my own expertise coupled with the precision of One Page Business Plan techniques. We hired our first ever, paid Executive Director who will receive a copy of The One Page Business Plan for Non-Profit Organizations to take our organization to greater levels of success. I have no doubt that the assessment and accountability tools will serve as vital road-map to future accomplishment. If you’re looking for a tool that effectively marries the heart-based volunteers who […]
