Another fun feature on my blog is the Rock On ~ section where I share music selections that I dig. Beware, my musical taste is quite ecclectic…. Each month I’ll share my current favorite with you and you can check it out to see if you like it, too.

Rock On ~ Ziggy Marley

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

Currently, I am thoroughly enjoying Ziggy Marley.

This isn’t a new release but the reggae message and beat is timeless.

The cover title Dragonfly is one of my absolute favorites and I think you’ll enjoy it too.

Rock On ~ Barbara Leoni

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Recently one of my dearest friends sent me a slide show of his incredibly cute son.

During the show, I was exposed to Barbara Leoni who just happened to be the background music of choice in the media presentation. I couldn’t get the tune Don’t Rain on My Parade out of my head.

So, I’m sharing it with you and I’m impressed. I think you will be, too.

Listen to some rockin’ blues here

Rock On ~ Susan Tedeschi

Friday, June 15th, 2007

I happen to be on a Susan Tedeschi kick right now and one of the things I love about the album I’m featuring this month is the fact that the lyrics are printed on the CD sleeve. This is a good thing for me because I love to read lyrics and very bad thing for anyone who happens to be around when I try to sing them

The Rock On~ selection of the month is, Susan Tedeschi’s Hope and Desire. It’s soulful and fun..

Another fun feature on my blog is the Rock On ~ section where I share music selections that I dig. Beware, my musical taste is quite eclectic…. Each month I’ll share my current favorite with you and you can check it out to see if you like it, too.Spring is in the air, the dogwoods are in bloom and blue skies abound. Speaking of blue, you cannot go wrong with a strong dose of the blues and no one belts them out better than the queen of blues, Etta James.

Check out her jams here ( I’ve included a link to my top three favorites):

There is nothing more soothing to the soul than good music. In fact, the tunes you choose can set the mood for the day. Check out this funky and fun album by AJ Croce ( remember Jim Croce who sang Leroy Brown? Well, AJ is his son and musical talents are a chip off the ole’ block with a completely different stye)

Be sure to click this link to check it out & take a listen. A.J. Croce

Feeling a Little Bit Country ~

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

This month I’m feeling a little bit country. In honor of a dear and recently departed friend, Ron Hovey, I’m recommending Tim McGraw’s Live Like You Were Dying and Emerson Drive’s Countrified albums.

Check out the title track Live Like You Were Dying from McGraw because it reminds me that Ron had true spirit and embraced every day he had to the fullest even though he had no idea when his last day might be and Good Man from Emerson Drive because, well, the title says it all.

Click on the links that follow, to zip over to Amazon.com and take a listen. Scroll down the page when you get there and you can hear what I’m talking about.

Tunstall Rocks On~

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

By: Lisa Manyon www.writeoncreative.com

My current favorite is KT Tunstall Eye To The Telescope. I particularly like her raw acoustic sounds and am impressed by her fresh lyrics (most of which are written by her). Plus, call it a writers thing, I really like the freeform scribbles on? the inside of her? CD jacket (Okay, that may not? have anything to do with the music, but I’m getting there).? ? In my opinion the best track is Black Horse and the Cherry Tree, but you decide.
