How to Share Your Expertise and Get More Website Traffic~

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Article marketingArticle Marketing is here to stay. In fact, it’s one of the quickest ways to gain notoriety on the web, get picked up in various publications, increase eZine (electronic newsletter) subscriptions and boost the “I’ve heard about you somewhere” factor.

When looking for no cost and low cost ways to market your business both online and offline, article marketing should be part of your mix. I challenge you to take it a step further and create an overall content strategy. Here’s what I mean by that. Often entrepreneurs will put together a basic marketing plan. Of course, this is better than no plan and at the same time really focusing on your content strategy can help you create content that helps you reach your goals more quickly.

Your content strategy starts with your copy (the written part of any marketing material). Copy truly is the secret to sales success. Plus, the basic copywriting formulas can be applied to article marketing and your overall content strategy for the entire year.

If you are not currently including article marketing in your plan, here are two quick tips and techniques to get you started and make the most of article marketing.

1) Leverage your expertise via online article marketing by sharing “how to” articles that showcase your talents and passion. Article marketing is an effective way to share your knowledge and gain free exposure for your business. Simply write your article, create a signature block with a link to your URL and submit your article to online article marketing distribution sites.
2) Visit your favorite article marketing site to connect with likeminded experts. Search for a topic of interest and read one article. Follow the website link in the signature block to learn more about the author. Not only can you incorporate article marketing into your plan to get more exposure, you can also connect with other experts to help build your business.

Once you’ve written, proofed and submitted your articles, the web begins working for you. On many of the Internet article marketing sites, you can review article statistics on and see how many people are accessing your valuable information. Believe it or not, even the presence of one article in the world of online article marketing can help make you a difference. Of course, the more articles you submit, the more web traffic and exposure you’ll receive.

If you’re curious about how article marketing can help you but don’t have time to investigate the platform let alone write the article, consider investing in a ghostwriter to do it for you. Just make sure the writer can capture your voice and represent your business in support of your brand. More and more busy entrepreneurs and business owners are investing in copywriters to boost their business. For many, it just makes good business sense. After all, we should all focus on what we do best and outsource the rest!

Take a moment to review your marketing today.
Is article marketing a part of your mix? Have you written and distributed articles in your area of expertise?
Do you include a signature block so people can contact you?
Do you have an overall content strategy for the upcoming twelve months?

I am JAZZED to be named in Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero’s Top 50 Coolest Marketers of 2009! And, I love learning about other marketers who are dancing to the beat of a different drum and doing their own thing. It’s truly refreshing.

Plus, Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero is the real deal. When I first heard her (years ago) on a teleseminar with Sheri McConnell of the National Association of Women Writers, I knew I had found kindred spirits. Listening to Lorrie and Sheri rap about business and writing in particular was like having coffee with likeminded girlfriends. But I digress. I bring this up because both Lorrie and Sheri provided me with support and wonderful stepping stones while building my business and I’m forever grateful. I’m a lifetime member of the NAWW (thanks Sheri) and I’ve mentored with Lorrie, acted as a Copy Coach for bootcamps and worked on other special projects with her.

So, to say it’s an honor to be named in Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero’s Top 50 Coolest Marketers of 2009 list, is, well, an understatement.

You can check out her list here http://www.redhotblogging.com/and-the-winners-of-red-hot-copys-50-coolest-marketers-for-2009-are/ (I suggest you bookmark your favorites).

What Is Your Plan To Own Your Gifts and Share Your Unique Message With The World In 2010?~

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

I’m on a planning kick and this is not surprising since 2010 is right around the corner. In fact, I’ve been examining my marketing mix since Ali Brown’s Shine Event.

During the three day, business building, networking and motivational extravaganza, we were challenged to review our current marketing mix and add five new activities in 2010.

As I looked at the “Marketing Buffet” a worksheet containing 59 marketing avenues, I added another that wasn’t listed. Then I totaled the number of activities I already incorporate in my marketing mix and I was pleased to see that I’m currently utilizing 36 marketing techniques regularly.

The three techniques I plan to add are: Audio CD’s, Cross Promotions, Podcasts, Speaking & Upsells. To be fair, I use these techniques to some degree but I have BIG ideas on how I can better utilize them (so, I didn’t count them and won’t until I’ve mastered them).

I share this with you because I want to make sure you really give thought to your 2010 marketing plans. What do you plan to add to your mix in 2010?

If you are looking for a no-cost to low-cost way to boost your business in 2010, I have a recommendation for you BUT only if you are serious…and if you:

  • Are ready to establish credibility
  • Want to help customers find you online
  • Desire increased search engine rankings without expensive pay per click advertising
  • If this sounds good then this IS the system for you…
As you know, online press releases are one of the topics I’m most passionate about. I’ve already told you that I’ve finally compiled all of my experience into a handy, downloadable system that I’m really proud of. Well, here is another shameless plug.

It’s reasonably priced and I’m including a press release review (from me) valued at $550. So, basically the system pays for itself when you think about it.

    These techniques have:

  • Doubled opt in’s for online teleseminars
  • Helped a new author get exposure and win awards
  • Resulted in “ink” in mainstream media
  • Supported grassroots marketing campaigns to help sway public and public officials opinion
  • Increased search engine rankings
  • Reinforced credibility resulting in testimonials from BIG NAME marketers
  • Earned new clients and projects
  • This is just a sampling of how online press releases can work for you and HAVE worked for others.

Sounds better by the minute, doesn’t it?

You can get the quick scoop here.

Or get the full scoop here (even if you’re not a long copy fan, it’s worth the read if you want to know more about my story).

Either way, it’s a great investment in your business and press releases have always brought me great success. I cannot wait personally to review your first press release draft and see the magic start working for you.

At the very least, save a shortcut to the Write On Creative Press Release Producer on your desktop. I offer this free tool because I’m THAT passionate about how effective online press releases really are. I’ve been told I’m crazy for giving this away and for including a press release critique in the Proven Publicity & Online Press Release System. That may be true and at the same time I feel good about that.

    Tasks Versus Projects…

    Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

    By: Lisa Manyon www.WriteOnCreative.com

I’m a BIG fan of to-do lists. Planning is in my blood. It’s how I stay on track and get things done. What about you?

One of the topics that Ali Brown touched on at her live SHINE ~ Discover Your True Wealth event is the difference between tasks and projects. This isn’t a new concept — in fact, members of  Ali’s MPC group?participated in a project flow chart exercise at one of our retreats. None the less, I found this differentiation interesting because many people mistakenly add a task to their to-do list when the task is really a project.

A good example: If you need to revamp your website, this is not a task. It’s definitely project.

A task is generally a single step or action. A project consists of “multiple layers and players” as I like to say. There are phases, team members and more.

You see before I went to SHINE, my team and I embarked on a project to revamp my web presence. It mayMindmap of Web Project seem like a simple task but let me tell you — once I mapped out all the steps it was going to take to complete my vision, it was clear that it was one BIG project. (check out the snapshot of my flowchart of the project and check out the site revamp at www.WriteOnCreative.com).

I’m happy to say the project was complete just in time for Shine thanks to my fabulous team ( I LOVE you guys). I’m especially happy that my site was ready to roll because Ali Brown featured my website and business model as an example of a successful One-To-One business.  I was beyond excited (and a little nervous speaking in front of over 500 people). I’m absolutely giddy from the experience and I share it with you to illustrate that when you work diligently towards your dreams they can and will come true and you will be recognized for your efforts.

You see, if I hadn’t clearly mapped out the steps to complete my project, I wouldn’t have been prepared and I wouldn’t have fully realized how much work the project was going to take (about 5 team members including me and it took about a month).

It’s the same thing in your business. If you don’t clearly map out your projects and plans, you’re not going to make as much progress as you could.

The exposure I received at SHINE has certainly boosted my business. I’ve had many inquires about my copywriting packages and press releases system. You see, because I completed my web project, my site is was ready for the inquiries and orders and I was able to showcase my offerings.

If I hadn’t have been prepared, I would have missed out on great opportunities and sales. That’s why it’s vital to have a plan and to carve out time for planning.

This brings me to another important topic. In addition to planning your projects, you must plan your marketing and virtually every campaign is a project in and of itself.

    What are your BIG projects?

Do you have enough support to get them done?

Do you have a content strategy planned for 2010?
