Get Your Blog On ~

By: Lisa Manyon www.writeoncreative.com

I’m relatively new to the blogging scene. In fact, not so long ago (the beginning of 2006 or so) to be exact, I asked my web guru “What’s up with this RSS stuff?”

I’m not going to share the technical explanation I received but I will say she drilled it down so I would understand just how impactful a blog presence with RSS could be.

After that, I realized that I needed to get my blog on (similar to getting a groove on, I guess). And really, the more I think about it, blogs do provide quite the business groove. They speed up internet presence and search engine ranking if optimized properly.

I find that I’m somewhat technologically challenged but since my blog launched in September of 2006, my internet presence has greatly increased.

Go ahead, Google me. I dare you!

Seriously, by interfacing my flash site with a blog powered by RSS feeds (I highly recommend the Word Press platform) my Google ranking on the website is now a 3 and the blog is a 4.

That’s pretty good I’m told. Apparently it’s hard to get above a 5 even with pay per click advertising. I haven’t done ANY paid internet advertising. In fact, I’ve relied solely on article marketing, forum posts and blog comments on other sites. And now, I’m enlisting the help of someone who knows more about the technological aspect of the internet to help me along. So, check my site and blog , regularly to see how things progress.

Plus, I’m currently reading Cat Seda’s new book. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this book since we had lunch in September and she mentioned it was on the way. So far, it’s well worth the wait (especially if you’re a little tech-challenged). If you’re new to internet marketing in general, this is a must read and you can expect a full review in the Read On ~ section of my blog as soon as I’ve completely devoured the content.

Do you have your blog on? It’s time to get into the internet groove.
