This question has been posed to me by many colleagues who are baffled that I regularly donate an insane amount of time to my favorite non-profit organizations. Make no mistake, there is profit in non-profits. Those profits are merely funneled back into the programs to benefit the particular cause and as the awareness of the need increases, support increases, cash flow increases and the programs grow.

With extensive non-profit experience ranging from general volunteerism, management of non-profit outreach and assistance programs as well as board member roles, The One Page Business Plan for Non-Profit Organizations is one of the best tools I’ve seen. While serving as board chairperson for the non profit organization Willow Center for Grieving Children, I was able to triple the income in three years by utilizing my own expertise coupled with the precision of One Page Business Plan techniques. We’ve recently hired our first ever, paid Executive Director who will receive a copy of The One Page Business Plan for Non-Profit Organizations to take our organization to greater levels of success. I have no doubt that the assessment and accountability tools will serve as vital roadmap to future accomplishment.

If you’re looking for a tool that effectively marries the heart-based volunteers who work directly with non-profit program participants and the business-minded board members responsible for administrative tasks, this book is for you.

Feeling a Little Bit Country ~

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

This month I’m feeling a little bit country. In honor of a dear and recently departed friend, Ron Hovey, I’m recommending Tim McGraw’s Live Like You Were Dying and Emerson Drive’s Countrified albums.

Check out the title track Live Like You Were Dying from McGraw because it reminds me that Ron had true spirit and embraced every day he had to the fullest even though he had no idea when his last day might be and Good Man from Emerson Drive because, well, the title says it all.

Click on the links that follow, to zip over to Amazon.com and take a listen. Scroll down the page when you get there and you can hear what I’m talking about.
