Winter Golf Improves Personal Record ~
By: Lisa Manyon www.writeoncreative.com
I managed to get a round of golf in with my sister-in-law over Thanksgiving break.
It’s actually become a tradition now. Robyn flies home from Dallas every year to spend the holidays with family. When she arrives, she has her clubs in tow.
We usually go out as a group but this year, Robyn and I literally had the course to ourselves. And, I have to admit it was a really fun and relaxing round of golf. This could be why I did better than usual….
A crisp November day in Lewiston registered about 45 on the thermometer? and didn’t deter us from hitting the links. Three pars, three bogies and several mimosas later, I finished my lowest round to date (111, and if you didn’t know, low is good in golf.the lower the better). At first we calculated the round at 114 but I recounted and was pleasantly surprised Not bad considering I hadn’t played since September. With a little practice, I might even break 100.
All in all, it was a great day of relaxing golf and it really wasn’t too cold. Although, admittedly, we both donned our silk thermals just to be safe.
Sadly golf has come to a halt at our local courses because of snow but we’re looking forward to a thaw so winter golf can resume. I’ll keep you posted.
