In the Hole in Two!
By: Lisa Manyon www.writeoncreative.com
After returning from my five day stint in Redondo Beach, California, I was missing the links. September drizzles couldn’t keep me off the course. John and I decided to sneak in 9 and am I ever glad I did. Not only did the fresh air and cleansing rain invigorate, I got my first birdie.
If you’re a golf newbie like me, that means I shot one under par on a particular hole, number 4 at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club to be exact. Par for a hole means the number of strokes it should take to sink the ball. This particular hole is a par 3. I teed off and landed less than a foot from the hole. Then I gently tapped it in for a whopping 2! Not only that, but this is the first time I got a lower score on a hole than John (not that I’m counting) ….do I hear a golf clap?
I haven’t been back on the course yet. It seems like I’m still playing catch up. But, I’m feeling the urge again and I can’t wait to see what I can challenge myself to do next. What challenges and invigorates you?
