Time is Money~
By: Lisa Manyon www.writeoncreative.com
Recently I met with an old friend and business associate. During our conversation we discussed the value of our time. As freelance professionals it?€™s important to keep time in perspective. Because, clich?© as it may sound, time is money.
Whether you?€™re the client or the service provider you want to make sure time is used wisely and that real value is delivered.
How do make sure this happens?
?€¢? First, you must believe in yourself and you must want to help your customer reach their goals.
?€¢? Second, you must always deliver what you promise and more.
?€¢? Third, you must invest in your professional growth regularly.
All of the aforementioned steps add value to the services you provide.? Personally, I believe the first two should come naturally if you truly love what you do.? The third step is the step that many people overlook.? I believe it?€™s the most important.?
No matter how good you are at what you do, there is always something new to learn.
Recently I had the pleasure of being mentored by Lorrie Morgan Ferrero of Red Hot Copy.? She?€™s done work for the famed, Mark Victor Hansen who you may recognize as one of the Chicken Soup for the Soul guys.? ? I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the work that Lorrie does.? Her copywriting courses are PHENOMENAL.? She personally critiqued a sample of my writing, providing solid tips for improvement.
No matter what business you are in, it?€™s good to be humble.? Reach out and learn something new today.? The perspective that peers provide can provide a new way of looking at a situation.
Speaking of learning something new, if you are a business in the beginning stages of your adventure, don?€™t miss the Idaho Small Business Development training seminars I?€™ll be conducting in May.
