• MP900385225[1]There are three key elements to creating the life and business you desire. Gratitude, success and support. I suggest that we all focus on gratitude and success (Exactly why I keep a journal of gratitude and a journal of success). It’s one of the best ways I know to stay focused on what really matters and celebrate accomplishments (As well as pick myself up when I’m being to hard on myself — Can you relate to that?).

One thing I know for sure is that each of us are way too critical of our own success and where we think we ought to be. This is why it’s important to surround ourselves with people who can hold the space for our vision and hold us accountable to ensure we’re not only moving forward but that we’re stretching ourselves. I’m personally in a couple of high-level, invitation only, mastermind groups that are not being offered to the general public. These groups help keep me focused and accountable and they PUSH me to strive for even greater things. I’m grateful for this support because I know without it, I would not move out of my comfort zone (and things are getting really uncomfortable in a good way).

I’m grateful to for the expertise and support of these groups and I’m thankful for YOU and all of my Write On Creative Community members. You are the reason I create Manyon’s Musings and share my marketing magic and business building tips. With that being said, I have two-tiered question for you.

    1)  How are you investing in YOU throughout the year?

    AND

    2) What is YOUR top strategy for success?

At a minimum I recommend investing in consulting, coaching or mentorship (perhaps a magical blend of all of these supportive services) to move your business forward.  When you are choosing the right fit for you, here are some items you’ll want to make sure are included:

    • Making adjustments and suggestions for new direction as necessary and in alignment with YOUR big vision
    • Revisiting your strategy to plan for success based on creating a lifestyle that fully supports you
    • Updating web content, strategies and packages to ensure you’re connecting genuinely with your ideal prospects and moving them to paying customers (This is often where unrealistic web expectations are uncovered, and this is a really good thing, because it could mean uncovering additional revenue streams and/or ways to increase profits)
    • Creating an Internet editorial calendar so your marketing efforts strategically support your revenue goals (I call them content strategy plans and you can read about some of the results my techniques have generated for clients here) to support your projections and revenue goals
    • Consistent support for a specified length of time (6 months is often optimal and then you’ll want to reassess what you really want, need and have achieved before you renew)
    • A clear outline of the benchmarks you want to achieve during your contracted time (This should not be cookie cutter — it should be personalized and if it isn’t RUN, don’t walk, away!)

IT might also be time for a marketing audit. Most importantly, be sure you’re taking the time to practice gratitude and success. When you need extra support, choose wisely. Lisa, you are a founder of both groups? I swear there must be 8 of you. How about an article on how you get SO much done??? You are a superwoman!

    2. Great tips Lisa! I think that updating your web strategy and content in alignment with your goals is particularly good for me to think about in this new year.

    3. Sue Painter says:

I so agree that masterminds are necessary. Hope that you will find all the support you need in 2014 from your groups, Lisa. And I think the content calendar can help so many people get clear on their message.

The goal to set up a plan and a strategy works every time.
Add in the accountability part and now we are talking.
Glad to see you are keeping this close to your heart.

    5. Thanks for the reminder of how important it is to revisit your strategy. As things change we need to remember to revise our goals and how we plan to achieve them. Off to review my annual docs.

    6. Lisa – Yes! Revisiting your strategy periodically to adjust and course correct as needed is critical as we as business owner grow and evolve over time just as our businesses do!

Best of luck in your groups this year!

    7. Great tips, Lisa! I especially want to highlight the need for benchmarks that YOU want to achieve. I’m a little surprised by how infrequently people do this one.
