• ThisFeatured-300px is a quick message to share a bit of TRUTH about success. You may have heard me say that success doesn’t happen in a straight line and that is the TRUTH. However, you don’t always get the FULL truth when it comes to marketing (inauthentic behavior is one of my pet peeves and why I teach my preferred clients to keep it real). There is more truth about success that many people don’t always tell you… one of the most profound truths about success is that it always looks easier than it is from the outside looking in.  And, the payoff, or return on investment (of time, talent and more) is almost always worth any challenging lesson that you move through during your journey.

Here are three truths that I have found to be invaluable on my journey to success (which by the way is never-ending):

Trust your intuition (If it doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not right– YOU always know what’s best for you WHEN you tap into your intuition)

Surround yourself with a like-minded support system (Even your closest friends, family and sometimes your partner or spouse may question your new direction)

Don’t do it ALONE (Get a team to support you — at the very least someone to help with admin tasks so you can focus on your magic)

Finally and perhaps most important find your tribe of business girlfriends (this applies to the gents, too — it’s important to collaborate with like-minded people). This is vital to your success. I have several close circles of women entrepreneurs who I value deeply. We meet regularly and we are there for each other to brainstorm, troubleshoot, create new ideas and sometimes just VENT.

I value these connections more than I can even articulate (that’s pretty profound coming from a marketing wordsmith). AND, that’s why I’m excited to be featured in the brand new magazine Mastermind of Women. You can access my interview in Mastermind of Women magazine here — Success is What YOU Say it Is .

(Lisa, I can’t get your social sharing buttons to work)..
I agree strongly with all 3 of these. Great tips!

As someone who has both gone after success alone and gone after success with a team (and a tribe of amazing women), I just have to say I agree with you 100% I would never go it alone ever again! Wise advice Lisa, and people will save themselves a lot of time if they take it NOW.

    3. finding the right tribe and surrounding yourself with a support network is everything! thanks for being part of my tribe Lisa!

    4. Lisa – You’re right! Success isn’t a straight line and it is always harder than it looks. Often those “overnight successes” are year and years of hard work and sleepless nights in the making.

And I couldn’t agree more with your advice to NOT do it alone! It blows my mind how many people who want to build 6 figure+ businesses waste hours and hours of their time trying to do their website themselves – instead of getting out there to network, meet people, and get clients!

In full agreement to have people around you to work with you, add their expertise to your business and their advice.
Website creation, marketing plan and execution, business advice are just a few areas most people need assistance in and to try to handle this all alone is a formula for failure.

Thanks for reminding me that success doesn’t happen in a straight line. So very true and an important thing to keep in mind.

    8. Love the three tips. I find if I don’t trust my intuition I always regret it. Love my tribe! And, since it has been said that being an entrepreneur is one of the lonliest professions – I don’t know that I would be able to do it without the people I surround myself with and the team I build.
